About My practice

Welcome! I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#12769) with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families in a number of different ways. Born and raised in Vancouver, I currently work as a counsellor in the public school system and help people from all ages and walks of life. I have a passion for childhood mental health and working with neurodiverse people, including those with autism, ADHD, and behavioural challenges. As a former educator, I also understand the complex needs of families within the context of a bigger system and how stressful it can be when your child has been labelled as “different.” I provide non-judgmental support for parents and caregivers who are navigating through diagnoses and connecting to community and agency resources. My belief is that counselling should be available and accessible for all developmental and intellectual abilities, and I happily adapt my services to match specific needs.

The counselling process for most children and adolescents typically involves weaving in cognitive therapy, expressive and emotional regulation tools, and understanding attachment patterns within families. Sometimes I work solely with caregivers to support reattachment with their children in ways that facilitate more communication, understanding, and closeness.

I also work with many young and older adults in their own individual counselling. I often support people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. My certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy helps me work with thoughts and feelings from a trauma lens and keep clients’ emotional safety at the forefront of our time together.
